Not only perfect, but Belgian, too!
We're visiting Grandma and Grandpa. Our drive up was fast and uneventful. Even Rosebud said it seemed to go fast. Sunshine slept most of the second half and everyone else listened to stories on their ipods (well, Rosebud watched Castle)
We met them on the grounds of BD. Grandpa and Uncle were working the beer tent. We couldn't find Grandma at first, but she soon turned up. It was one of those afternoons where the sun would be shining one minute and the next it was a quick shower of gigantic raindrops. All the 11 & 12 year old baseball players would run off the field into the dugout and in 5 minutes the sun was shining again.
I bought the kids ice cream sundaes and I ate Potato Jutt. I can't believe in all these years I never had it. It was ok. Not bad, but nothing earth shattering, either.
Auntie was at home, so, since there was nothing to do there (playground was wet and the music was loud), we took our bucket of Booyah and went to Grandma & Grandpa's.
The kids told Auntie all the news, we ate the booyah, and by 5:30, Grandma was done working and came home. Grandpa didn't get home until after bedtime.
We watched the Funny Show and everyone went to bed. Big, exciting day!
This morning Sunshine was SO good when he woke up--very quiet. So at 6 I let him get up and watch Curious George. Kids ate cereal and by 7:30 they were out riding bikes up and down the driveway.
Grandpa had to go back to take down the tents and clean up the park, so Grandma and the kids and I went in search of butterfly nets so we could use them for crayfishing. Didn't find a one. We did buy groceries and also found a natural foods store that carries Sunshine's vitamin juice. He wasn't the same boy this morning with out it!
So, lunch, popsicles, the appointed 2 people washed dishes (the old-fashioned way!) and now more playing outside. It's a pretty lazy life at Grandma's!
