Today's Blessings

Today I have been blessed by my Ergo. It seems a little funny to be blessed by a baby carrier, but my new strategy with Sunshine is to keep him close. Banana Boy always loved to be in the Ergo, but Sunshine has never been crazy about it. However, I've decided for his safety and my sanity, he needs to be in it much more. I love how easy it is to put on and it is SOOOOOOOOO comfortable! Plus, structurally it is better for his little body (hips) than a frame backpack. Sunshine fussed a bunch for the first 10 minutes and then settled down. He snuggles so sweetly and often falls asleep.

I am blessed to be godmother to little AK. She is two, six months younger than Sunshine and just a doll. I don't know why we don't have her over more often. It's good sometimes to get a dose of a toddler who hasn't had her life disrupted in a major way! We combed out her hair and played beauty shop. The girls had a blast playing FP Little People with her and coloring. Now she is snuggling in the chair with Daisy and her blanket and her baba.

I'm blessed to be a daughter of the King, Jesus. For every time I fall down, he is there to pick me up, forgive me and give me a fresh start. He chose me, he died for me, and by his grace I will live for eternity with him in heaven.

I was blessed to get a kiss on the lips from Rose Bud before she ran off to the bus stop this morning. Usually I just get a forehead on which to plant my lips.

I am blessed to live in Wisconsin where the weather is never the same two days in a row (ok, maybe it is during a 90 degree heat wave in the summer, but mostly not) This week we have had near 40, blizzard warnings, windchills at -40 degrees, rain, sleet and snow and today, sunshine. The snow is beautiful on the trees. Mr. GT said when he came in from blowing snow in the below zero weather the other day, "There is no bad weather, only bad clothing!" Meaning, he was warm enough out there and he even enjoyed it! I am thankful for 4 unique seasons!

Looking For Blessings

I'm tired of being negative. I want to see the blessings in my life and be thankful for them.

Here are 5 blessings for today:

My five wonderful children, Rose Bud, Daisy, Pepper, Banana Boy and Sunshine. They are helpful, kind, smart and funny. Most of the time.

My wonderful neighbors, the Hey!s. There are the kids, JayHey!, LaylyHey! and LittleHey!, all best friends with my kids. There are also parents, but I'll have to think of clever names for them. MomHey is one of my best friends, so

My neighbor MomHey who looks out for me and lets me call her anytime just to chat. Her kids are my kids and my kids are her kids.

My mom, who so sweetly brought us coffee and donuts this morning when the power was out because she was worried about us not answering our phone.

My darling husband, Mr. Green Thumb, who takes such good care of us all. He braved the -40 windchill this morning to blow out the driveway, he called the electric company when the power went out. He kissed us all good bye and off to work he went. We get to stay at home and have all the fun.

More tomorrow!
